About us

The Consumer Alliance is a consumer association founded in 2012, bringing together more than ten of the most active non-governmental Lithuanian consumer rights NGOs, including the Association “For Fair Banking”, the Institute of Consumer Rights, the Association of Insurers, the Association of Finance and Credit Management, the Association of Lithuanian Bank Customers, the Consumer Rights Protection Centre and others.

The organization carries out various information dissemination and training projects, participates in national legislative and strategic planning initiatives, carries out research, informs the media and the public about the most important consumer protection issues and takes action to address them. Members of the Alliance work in the Consumer Rights Protection Council, the Heat Council, the Payments Council, the NGO Council of Vilnius City Municipality, the Bank of Lithuania, the Tripartite Council of the Republic of Lithuania, where they discuss important consumer protection issues; they are involved in the activities of the various committees of the Standardization Department.

The Consumer Alliance is a member of the most influential European consumer organization in the region BEUC, actively participates in various BEUC working groups, works in the European Commission Consumer Policy Advisory Group (CPAG), which assists the European Commission in addressing pan-European consumer issues as well as in the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) and other international groups, and therefore makes a real contribution to the development and implementation of the European consumer rights policy.
